WOOFA® - Wilderness, Outdoors & Off-grid First Aid for people and K-9s

WOOFA® Course Description:

Have you thought about what you would do if someone or their dog got injured? How about in a wilderness or rural location. The WOOFA® course is perfect for anyone who spends time in the outdoors with their canine companions. Built for hikers, campers, homesteaders, farmers, hunters

This 2-day course was developed by James of ARC through his extensive experience in providing medical care in austere environments to humans and canines. It focuses on basic emergency medicine while in wilderness or remote areas. Students will learn skills to treat humans and canines who become injured or ill while separated from immediate help or the accessibility of 911.

Topics Include:

• Scene & Patient Assessment

• Bleeding Control, Shock & CPR

• Environmental & Medical Emergencies

• Evacuation Considerations & Survival Principles

• Burns, Sprains, Strains, Fractures & more…

Lectures, demonstrations, skills practice, and realistic scenarios are combined to provide participants with a robust learning experience. By the end of this course, students will have the knowledge, skills, and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations and provide Wilderness, Outdoors & Off-grid First Aid. Students will receive a WOOFA® Certification, as well as Stop The Bleed® & NAEMT FOTS® (First On The Scene, *Includes CPR/AED) certifications.

*American Red Cross certification/s (First Aid, CPR, BLS) can be added for an additional fee.

**All events currently capped at 12 participants. Private and group sessions are available. Classes will be added periodically, so keep an eye on the website.
